Biography

American Soprano Sashell Beck is known for her charming stage presence versatility. Currently you can see her in some performances of the new musical Piazza Navona by Christof Bergman in Berlin where she is assistant directing and covering the role of Donatella. Last year she she sang the role of Despina with the Bergedorfer Musiktage and will be participating again this year in the festival in a gala on June 27th. In November she premiered the role of Ellén in the new opera Ellén by Juan Carlos Villaseñor in Mexico City.
In Berlin, she has played Najade in Ariadne auf Naxos and Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro with The Berlin Opera Group. Other signature roles include Musetta which she performed with Center Stage Opera in Puccini’s La Bohème, Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Mademoiselle Silberklang in Mozart’s Der Schauspieldirektor, and Adina in Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore. She also has much orchestral concert experience including Mahler’s 4th Symphony, the Coronation Mass by Mozart, and Rachmaninoff’s The Bells.

After obtaining her musical degree from the BCCM at CSULB she enhanced her studies with Masterclasses by Carol Vaness, Dolores Ziegler, Sheryl Studer, Roberta Alexander, Sheri Greenawald, Neil Semer, Edith Mathis, and Janet Williams. In 2012 she was the first prize winner of the Rio Hondo Young Artist Competition, in 2013 the Beverly Hills Concert Series, and finalist in many more. She has also participated in many opera summer programs including Opera Works’ Advanced Artist Program, CoOperative, and The Opera Academy of California.
